PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily carry out cause analysis or the like of failure when there is failure or the like by storing operation information during stable operation before compressor stoppage during air conditioner operation. SOLUTION: The controller for the air conditioner comprises an indoor temperature detecting means 3, a blowout temperature detecting means 4, an outdoor temperature detecting means 5, an outdoor heat exchanger temperature detecting means 6, a discharge temperature detecting means 7 for detecting a temperature of a refrigerant discharged from a compressor, a compressor operation frequency detecting means 8, a compressor stoppage detecting means 9 for detecting that the compressor has changed over from an operation state to a stoppage state, and a readable and writable nonvolatile storing means 10. The operation information during the stable operation before compressor stoppage can be stored by storing one or a plurality of pieces of operation information of an indoor temperature, a blowout temperature, an outdoor temperature, an outdoor heat exchanger temperature, the discharge temperature, and a compressor operation frequency in the nonvolatile storing means 10 when changing from compressor operation to compressor stoppage for the first time after an operation start of the air conditioner.
