PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which can form multi-color images as fine as possible even when a line head of each color is mounted by a method in which strict positional adjustment is not carried out. SOLUTION: Positional shift amounts of recording heads 7k, 7c, 7m and 7y are acquired by test-pattern printing, or the like, beforehand. An X coordinate of a recording dot 22Ki of a number (i) of a reference color (for example, black) is made XK. An X coordinate of cyan left adjacent to XK of remaining three colors is made XC1, an X coordinate of magenta is made XM1, and an X coordinate of yellow is made XY1. An X coordinate of cyan right adjacent to XK is made XC2, an X coordinate of magenta is made XM2, and an X coordinate of yellow is made XY2. One of XC1 and XC2 nearer to XK is selected, one of XM1 and XM2 nearer to XK is selected, and one of XY1 and XY2 nearer to XK is selected.
