PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain gage having an end tab shape capable of reducing the dispersion of the side etching quantity of an end tab part. SOLUTION: In this strain gage, a pattern having a grid part and the end tab part is formed by an etching technology on a metal foil stuck on a resin film which is a base material. Since the end tab part is formed by patterning so as to have a shape wherein an influence of the side etching exerted on the end tab part becomes equal to an influence of the side etching exerted on the grid part, dispersion of the side etching quantity of the end tab part can be reduced, and the strain gage having a fixed shape can be manufactured. Consequently, the strain gage wherein dispersion of a creep characteristic is reduced following the reduction of dispersion of an end tab ratio caused thereby can be produced with a high yield.
