PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the processing and assembling work efficiency by simplifying a structure of a piston of an MR fluid damper. SOLUTION: The piston 21 for the RM fluid damper, mounted in a piston rod 12 inserted into a damper tube 11, defining upper and lower two chambers 22A, 22B for storing MR fluid inside of the damper tube 11, and comprising an MR fluid flow channel 61 communicating the upper and lower chambers 22A, 22B, has a piston main body 40 forming a magnetic field generating device 41, a non-magnetic part 50 mounted in a state of covering a part of an outer periphery of the piston main body 40, and a cover 60 for a magnetic member, connected with the piston main body 40, fitted to the non-magnetic part 50 of the outer periphery of the piston main body 40, and forming the MR fluid flow channel 61 with the outer periphery free from the non-magnetic part 50, of the piston main body 40.
