PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus equipped with a high-performance and high-durability cleaning means. SOLUTION: A cleaning brush is used as the cleaning means, and a cleaner cleaning stage is performed by switching applied voltage in cleaning, whereby toner is discharged to an image carrier and the discharged toner is recovered onto recording material.
