PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-cooled engine with improved utilization of a fan case. SOLUTION: In the air-cooled engine, the fan case 2 is attached to an engine 1, and a cooling fan 3 is housed in the fan case 2. An oxidation catalyst 5 is disposed in an exhaust passage 4, and for introducing secondary air to the upstream of the oxidation catalyst by using exhaust pulsation pressure, a valve case 7a of a check valve is disposed to an inlet of a secondary air introducing passage 6, and an inlet side passage part 6a of the secondary air introducing passage 6 and the valve case 7a are disposed in the fan case 2. In this case, a filter case of an air filter is disposed to the inlet of the secondary air introducing passage 6. It is preferable to install the filter case in the fan case 2.
