PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device for earthquake implementing a securer locking at the time of earthquake. SOLUTION: The lock device for earthquake with a latch member 13 is provided in a casing 12 mounted on a frame 3 while a bracket 9 provided on a hinged door 4 installed openable/closable at a front opening of the frame 3 is formed in such a way that the latch member 13 is locked with the bracket 9 only when an earthquake occurs. The bracket 9 includes a pair of parts 11 to be engaged while a front end of the latch member 13 has a pair of engaging parts 20. The latch member 13 with the pair of engaging parts 20 is inserted freely rotatably around forward-to-backward axis relative to the casing 12 and shiftable either to an engaging state for hooking respectively to each part 11 to be engaged or a non-engaging state for coming off from the parts 11 to be engaged.
