PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a conventional antistatic agent such as a polyether ester amide produced by using a titanium tetraalkoxide, zirconium tetraalkoxide or hafnium tetraalkoxide, etc., as the polymerization catalyst comprising considerable color development of the obtained polyether ester amide and the discoloration of a resin and the lowering of the mechanical properties in the case of kneading the agent in a thermoplastic resin. SOLUTION: The antistatic agent is composed of a block polymer (B) produced in the presence of at least one kind of aluminum-containing catalyst (a) selected from aluminum salts of phosphorus compounds and containing 10-90 wt.% repeating unit having a polyether block structure and bonded through an ester bond.
