PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a label picture of high quality on a label recording surface of an optical disk.

SOLUTION: An optical disk apparatus is disclosed for performing label recording on a label recording surface located at an different position from a disk recording surface in an optical disk 1 by irradiating the label recording surface with a light beam, wherein recording of the label on the label recording surface is performed using tracking control information of light beam irradiation by an optical pickup 2 for a track of the disk recording surface.
