PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an image restoration method, whereby settings of camera-shake correction and camera-shake correction can easily be confirmed, even when a prescribed image restoration calculation is executed, after imaging still picture camera-shake correction. SOLUTION: A locus memory circuit 113 stores camera-shake sensing signals detected by angular velocity sensors 108, 109 and an analog processing circuit 110 at exposure in a still picture photographing mode, and an image restoration arithmetic circuit 123 restores deterioration of image data due to a camera-shake on the basis of the camera-shake sensing signals, when operations of still picture photographing. Then an image shift circuit 132 different from the image restoration arithmetic circuit 123 is activated in the case of operations of through-image display; when the operation of the image restoration arithmetic circuit 123 is set, the operation of the image shift circuit 132 is set continuously in the through-image display; and when non-operation of the image restoration arithmetic circuit 123 is set, the non-operation of the image shift circuit 132 is continuously set in the through-image display.
