PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction tool for a vacuum cleaner of low noise and excellent operability and dust collecting performance. SOLUTION: The suction tool comprises a first suction tool 11 provided with a suction chamber 24 having an intake port on the bottom surface, a second suction tool 10 freely attachable and detachable to/from the first suction tool 11 and provided with an opening on the front part, a rotary brush freely rotatably provided in the suction chamber 24 for raking up dust on a surface to be cleaned by being rotated by suction air by the motor-driven blower of an electric vacuum cleaner main body, and a ventilation port provided on the first suction tool 11 and communicated with the intake port. The joining part 19 of the ventilation port and the opening is positioned at the rear part of the rear wall 24a of the suction chamber 24. Since a fixed distance is secured between the opening and the suction chamber 24 and intake air smoothly flows, intake sound is reduced and noise is reduced. Also, since the need of separate components such as a motor for driving the rotary brush is eliminated, the first suction tool 11 is made light in weight and the dust on a carpet or the like is also raked out with the rotary brush, the dust collecting performance is improved.
