PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make either faucet usable out of a faucet with no socket mounted to a body and a faucet with a socket mounted to a body, as it is without changing a mounting shaft connected to the body. SOLUTION: The faucet 10 is provided with a pedestal 41 disposed at the upper part of a mounting hole 6 bored in a counter 2 of a wash stand 1 or a sink; a faucet body 11 mounted to the upper part of the pedestal 41; the mounting shaft 16 connected to the faucet body 11 and inserted through the mounting hole 6; a washer 51 seated at the peripheral edge of the mounting hole 6 from below and inserting the mounting shaft 16 through; and a fixture 61 screwed with the mounting shaft 16 from below the washer 51. The faucet 10 is fixed by clamping the counter 2 by the pedestal 41 and the washer 51. A height adjusting socket 31 is mountable between the faucet body 11 and the pedestal 41, and an extension shaft 21 is mountable between the mounting shaft 16 and the fixture 51.
