PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drainage material which does not impose burdens on the environment, because the drainage material is returned to nature by eventually rotting with age, after the drainage material in soil uses a natural raw material and is put into a state of loss of function due to clogging etc. SOLUTION: This drainage material using bamboo chips is a drainage material wherein the bamboo chips are crushed by a crushing machine, and wherein tuff loam, bentonite and a binder such as an adhesive are mixed with the crushed chips so as to be compressively molded into a cylindrical column and a rectangular column by using a pressing machine, dried and solidified, or a drainage material wherein an end of a cloth bag or a jute bag is backtacked after the bamboo chips are put into the cloth bag or the jute bag.
