PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a durable artificial fur with pile thread 2 not susceptible to fall down. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the artificial fur comprising a front side adhesive layer 3 formed on front inside of a weaved part 4 obtained by weaving pile thread 2 to a substrate 1 and then coating an adhesive from free end side of the pile thread. A backside adhesive layer is formed on the backside of the substrate 1. The method for producing the artificial fur comprising a preparatory step for weaving in which a mixed solution containing the adhesive is soaked and coated to the pile thread 2, a weaving step weaving the soaked and coated pile thread 2 obtained in the preparatory step to the substrate 1, and a coating step forming the front face adhesive layer 3 on the front inside of the weaved part 4 by coating the adhesive from the free end side of the pile thread.
