摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffusion measuring instrument capable of evaluating the easiness to diffuse of particles to be measured without performing pretreatment such as fluorescence labeling or the like and short in measuring time. SOLUTION: The diffusion measuring instrument comprises a chamber 11, a high-frequency power supply 16, an electrode 13 for receiving the application of voltage to cause the non-uniformity of the density of a line of electric force in the chamber, a dielectric migration control part 17 which applies high frequency voltage to particles to move them by dielectric migration, produces a particle concentrating region 19 and a particle dilute region 20 to establish a particle maldistribution state and stops or modulates the application of high frequency voltage to diffuse the particles and refractive index detecting parts 15a and 15b for measuring the change in refractive index accompanied by the movement of the particles. The refractive index detecting parts have the sensor surfaces 14a and 14b coming into contact with the particle dilute region 20 or the particle concentrating region 19 in order to measure the movement of the particles to evaluate the diffusion of the particles from the change in refractive index in the vicinity of the sensor surfaces.
