<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method and a coating device reducing thick coating itself at the initiation of coating and ensuring formation of coating beading at the initiation of coating. <P>SOLUTION: A guide member 100 consisting of a flat plate is disposed on the sliding surface 86 of a slide bead coater 84.
