<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation method and a methane fermentation device which can carry out methane fermentation in good condition and in stable condition. <P>SOLUTION: The decomposition reaction of substances releasing a large amount of hydrogen during the decomposition reaction is carried out stepwise sequentially in pretreatment reaction tanks 1a, 1b connected to the former stage of a methane reaction tank 2 in order. The total hydrogen released by the decomposition reaction is separately released in a plurality of the pretreatment reaction tanks 1a, 1b, and hydrogen accumulation in liquid of each reaction tank is reduced to lower the partial pressure of hydrogen, which facilitates the decomposition reaction from propionic acid to acetic acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
