<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the application control of a motor-driven parking brake automatically by controlling an electric motor upon sensing the driving condition of a vehicle, such as the vehicle speed, the state of shift range, etc., ensuring the stopping judgement, and precluding an accident resulting from abrupt starting or a reverse run at starting on a slope. <P>SOLUTION: The motor-driven parking brake is equipped with a shift range sensing means to sense the state of shift range, a vehicle speed sensor to sense the vehicle speed, and a foot brake sensor for sensing the application condition of a foot brake, and further with an ECU to emit control signals to the motor upon receiving the sensing signals from the mentioned sensing means and sensors, and through controlling by ECU, the parking brake is actuated if the vehicle speed nullifies upon sensing ON operation of the foot brake when the shift range is other than in the P-range, N-range, and R-range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
