PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable magnetostrictive load sensor that can also be manufactured easily. SOLUTION: The magnetostrictive load sensor includes an upper casing 10, a lower casing 20, a coil 40, and a bobbin 50. The upper casing 10 is nearly in a hanging bell shape, and has a hole section 10H at the upper end and a cutout section 10W at the lower end. The lower casing 20 is made into a structure where a disk-like member 20a and a rod-like member 20b are integrated. A conductor is wound around the bobbin 50, thus forming the coil 40. A lead wire takeout section 54 is formed in the bobbin 50. The rod-like member 20b is inserted into the axial center of the bobbin 50, and the upper casing 10 covers the lower casing 20 for connection, thus fitting the cutout section 10W of the upper casing 10 to the lead wire lead out section 54 of the bobbin 50.
