PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting method of a printing plate and a mounting aiding device which facilitate mounting of a sheetlike printing plate supported by a plastic support on a plate cylinder of a printing machine and make the operability of mounting excellent and which can surely prevent damaging of the printing surface of the printing plate. SOLUTION: On the occasion of mounting the sheetlike printing plate supported by the plastic support on the plate cylinder 1 of the printing machine, a guide plate 11 is fitted from above in a gap between the upper and lower edges of a gripper-side clamp 21 provided in the plate cylinder and the sheetlike printing plate is set in the gripper-side clamp 21, being slid on the guide plate, in the mounting method of the printing plate.
