PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method for an object to be coated capable of efficiently performing cooling without imparting a bad influence to quality of a coating film, and a cooling apparatus. SOLUTION: The cooling apparatus for the object to be coated has a water-spray gun 15 provided at an exit of a coating drying furnace 3 and spraying water to a non-coated portion of an automobile body B coming out of the coating drying furnace 3.
