PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for breaking metal salt or amide of a fatty acid into fine particles, by which metal salt or amide of the fatty acid is broken into fine particles which have smaller average particle size and are stable with time. SOLUTION: This method for breaking metal salt or amide of the fatty acid into fine particles comprises at least a step of breaking a molten mixture in which metal salt or amide of the fatty acid is melted and a surfactant is mixed.
