PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize image processing adaptable to various preferences about photographic printing.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 200 calculates predetermined characteristic values from image information acquired by an image information acquisition part 4, and calculates tone correction parameters by using a first neural network whose input signals are the calculated characteristic values and whose output signals are the tone correction parameters of tone conversion of the image information. According to the calculated tone correction parameters, the image information is tone-converted to create a corrected image. If an operator operates a command input part 9 to command a correction to the created corrected image, a neuro-learning part 7 executes learning of the first neural network, using levels of correction to the created corrected image as teacher data, and recalculates the tone correction parameters by using the learned first neural network.
