<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change an image pick-up method of a circumference of a vehicle in accordance with existence of an obstacle in the circumference of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 21 of a controller 2 judges whether the obstacle exists in the periphery of the vehicle or not in accordance with a distance to an object existing in the circumference of the vehicle input from a distance sensor 3 when it is detected by a shift sensor 4 that a shift position is at a reverse position. An overhead image formed based on images picked up by cameras 1b to 1d is displayed on a display device 5 when it is judged that the obstacle does not exist in the periphery of the vehicle. Images picked up by cameras 1b to 1d are displayed on the display device 5 when determining that no obstacle exists in the periphery of the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
