CONTENTS SERVER, AND CONTENTS REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a conventional contents reproducing apparatus that cannot have designated a range of data required for reproduction, when partially reproducing the contents received from a contents server.

SOLUTION: In the distribution of contents comprising partial contents reproducible as part of the contents by single or two or more, a contents reproducing apparatus disclosed herein requests the contents server to transmit a range of data required for the reproduction, by utilizing partial contents configuration information, including at least length information and the contents server transmits the data of a requested range to the contents reproducing apparatus, in compliance with a prescribed communication protocol.
