<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag, in particular a side airbag, equipped with an enhanced air-tightness without impairing the characteristic of its sewn part using a simple procedure. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag, in particular the side air bag, is structured so that a plurality of body panels are sewn together, in which the sewn part consists of sewing threads and an easy-to-melt material, wherein the ratio by weight of the sewing threads A to the easy-to-melt material B having a melting point below 200°C, A:B, should preferably be 1:5 through 5:1, and the sewn part is generated with sewing threads having a strength no less than 6 cN/dtex at a stitch number of 2-10 sticthes per cm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
