PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a more complete on-screen display function by reflecting a user's intention to the color of an on-screen display image when the on-screen display image is made always easy to be seen without a reference to a color change of a background image. SOLUTION: It is made possible to specify a tendency of the color of the on-screen display image to the color of the background image by user's operation. Then, when the on-screen display image is superimposed on the background image, the color of the on-screen display image is determined based upon color specification information showing the color tendency specified by the user's operation and the decision result of the color of the background image. The color of the on-screen display which is thus determined is always different from the color of the background image. Further, the determined color of the on-screen display image accords with the color tendency determined by the user operation, so that the color matches, for example, user's intention.
