PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method or the like capable of executing gradation adjustment without causing a processing load for calculating a modulus of dot area from a binary dot image when obtaining a color image by using the binary dot image, particularly capable of carrying out gradation adjustment of a highlight part. SOLUTION: The image forming method for using the binary dot image comprising a set of pixels to form a color image specifies pixel arrays from a first array to an n-th array (n is an integer of 2 or over) in a way of annual ring from a border of dots included in the binary dot image toward the inside of the dots, and adjusts the density by each of the pixel arrays to form the color image whose gradation is adjusted.
