PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which can set in the camera by storing the setting information of the camera in, a recording medium and reading the setting information of the camera stored, from the recording medium. SOLUTION: When the recorded camera-setting information is read, the camera-setting information is not set to the camera immediately, but the read camera setting information is displayed on a display unit. It is established, after whether the camera setting information has been set is determined. Setting without user's intention is not performed. Further, if it is determined whether the setting has been set for each item, the setting selecting operation ends few. When the camera-setting information is recorded, the information is not stored, as it is, but is displayed on the display unit. The information is stored, after whether the information has been stored as a set value is determined, and it is not necessary to store as a set point the information which the user's does not wish stored.
