PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore redundancy by dissolving write failures according to error reports resulting from a patrol process. SOLUTION: When receiving the report of an error detected as the result of the process of patrolling a secondary disk device 32, which process is implemented by a device adapter 24, a first recovery process part 40 reads from a normal primary disk device 30 the data corresponding to the error and writes the data into an error disk device 32 to solve the error. When the content of the error report is determined to indicate an error with a block ID that serves as an identifier showing the order of writing data, a second recovery process part 42 searches for the correct write address represented by the identifier and compares the data in the error disk device 32 to data in the normal disk device 30; when the data do not match, the secondary recovery process part 42 determines that there is a write failure, and writes the data read from the normal disk device 30 into the error disk device 32 to avoid a write failure.
