摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful design rule or design principle about a scorotron having at least two parallel pin arrays. SOLUTION: A charge is applied to the surface of a charge receptor like a photoreceptor 10 by a charge device 12. A first pin array 30 and a second pin array 32 are disposed between the inner surface of a first sidewall 36 and that of a second sidewall 38 of a housing of the charge device 12. A grid 34 is disposed between the pin arrays 30 and 32 and the surface of the charge receptor. The distance PSS between the first pin array 30 and the inner surface of the first sidewall 36 is 1.0 to 1.5 times the distance PGS between the grid 34 and the first pin array 30.
