PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus that prevents the emission of shrill sound even when a heat generating section in the main body of the apparatus is cooled using a ventilating means, and can, therefore, be used in an environment where quietness is called for. SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus 1 includes: a flexible, narrow endoscope 2 having an endoscope insertion part 21; and a main body 8 of the apparatus for controlling the operation of the endoscope 2. The endoscope apparatus 1 comprises: the ventilating means 50 for ventilating in the main body 8 of the apparatus; and a guide means 100 connected to the connection opening 81h of the main body 8 of the apparatus at its one end and connected to the connection opening of the ventilating means 50 at its other end, thereby allowing the main body 8 of the apparatus and the ventilating 50 to communicate with each other such that atmosphere A' in the main body 8 of the apparatus is guided to the ventilating means 50.
