PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a shutter unit small-sized by using a small-sized actuator for shutter blade driving, and then to provide an optical unit which is thereby constructed to a small size on the whole. SOLUTION: The optical unit 10 is equipped with optical systems 20 and 30 which form a subject image on an imaging element 32 and the shutter unit 70 having shutter blades 78 and 82 opening and closing a stop aperture part 74 where luminous flux passes, and the shutter unit 70 is provided with a light quantity limiting member 90 which is driven independently of the shutter blades 78 and 82 between a light quantity limitation position where the quantity of light passing through the stop aperture part 74 is limited, and a retraction position where the limiting member is retracted from the stop aperture part 74.
