PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner for a gas cooing stove capable of preventing dripping of stock to a vertical opening. SOLUTION: An annular burner cap 3 with a multiplicity of rows of burner ports 5 communicated with a mixing chamber 4 arranged on an outer rim end face 3b is mounted on a burner body 2 provided with the annular mixing chamber 4 for mixing gas and primary air. The vertical opening 6 is vertically opened in centers of the burner body 2 and the burner cap 3. The burner 1 for a cooking stove is comprised by radially recessing secondary air supply grooves 7 for supplying secondary air to burner ports 5 neighborhoods from the vertical opening 6 in a top face 3a of the burner cap 3.
