PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing structure and method for an exhaust pipe in a muffler for a vehicle, capable of fixing the exhaust pipe to a burring part with simple work without requiring welding and of realizing reduction in weight and costs by thinning the exhaust pipe. SOLUTION: This fixing structure is provided with the burring part 16 continuing to an exhaust pipe through-hole 15 and burred, a ring spring R externally fitted into an end part of the exhaust pipe (tail pipe 4) and capable of expanding/contracting in the diametrical direction, and a lock part 4b provided in a middle part of the exhaust pipe (tail pipe 4). After the end part of the exhaust pipe (tail pipe 4) is penetrated through the burring part 16 with the diameter of the ring spring R contracted, the ring spring R is locked in one opening end part of the burring part 16 by enlarging the diameter of the ring spring R, and the exhaust pipe (tail pipe 4) is fixed to the burring part 16 by locking the lock part 4b in the other opening end part of the burring part 16.
