<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique enabling the flow rate of exhaust gas to be made constant from the center axis in a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas to the periphery in the catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas 1 carries a catalyst on a carrier 2 of which the downstream end takes a convex shape toward the downstream side. Since the resistance to exhaust gas becomes lower from the center axis of the carrier 2 toward the peripheral side, the increase ratio of the flow rate of exhaust gas becomes larger enabling the flow rate of exhaust gas to be made constant. Thereby, the temperature distribution in the catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas 1 can be made constant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
