PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an apparatus for which there is no risk of damaging a container 2 to be measured and/or an inspection head 4 and which can particularly inspect a neck ring of a container 4 and/or a neck part at a high-speed. SOLUTION: The inspection head 3 includes at least one driven rod 4 directly driven by the friction so as to be vertically reciprocated by driving members (a wheel 11 and a pressure roller 13). An impact absorbing compensation system 20 is provided between the driven rod 4 and the inspection head so that the collision of the inspection head against the container 2 is restricted.
