PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant weight prediction method and occupant weight prediction device capable of predicting the weight of an occupant even if a load sensor fails. SOLUTION: In the occupant weight prediction method, total weight of occupants are obtained using a plurality of load sensors. The total weight of occupants is predicted based on an average load distribution ratio obtained before one load sensor becomes abnormal and the load distribution of a normal load sensor.
