PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color video camera for performing optimum auto white balance by switching to either feedforward control or feedback control according to a light source in photographing. SOLUTION: A CPU 12 discriminates whether the light source is an ordinary light source or a special one according to an R integral value and a B integral value integrated by a color integrator 10, and to a map for discriminating the light source stored in a memory 11. The CPU 12 performs white balance by feedback control at the light source in the ordinary mode, and performs the white balance by feedforward control at the special light source.
