PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which can be made large in size by a comparatively simple method, although large sizing of the organic EL element is difficult in the development of a light emitting device for display device using an organic EL element. SOLUTION: A plurality of first and second connecting electrodes 12, 13 are arranged in almost matrix form on the surface of a transparent mother board 11, and a plurality of organic EL elements 15 in which a first electrode layer 16, an organic luminous layer 18, and a second electrode layer 19 are formed in lamination on a sub-board 16 and which are electrically connected with these connecting electrodes 12, 13 are installed on the mother board 11.
