PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing and releasing device for operating rope 30 provided in a switch which has a structure in which a person other than an administrator can not operate even when a third person other than the administrator is in a position to touch by hand due to snow coverage or the like. SOLUTION: The fixing and releasing device for operating the rope is provided with holding members 4a, 4b of which one end is supported by a slide pin 3 provided at the sliding member 14 and the other end is supported capable of sliding in order to fix or release operating ropes 1a, 1b inside a cover case 11, a fixing screw 10 which is connected rotatably to the sliding member 14 so as to operate the sliding member 14, an operating hook 12 for interlocking with the fixing screw 10, a pin 18 which is provided at the operating hook 12 so as to house the operating hook 12 in the cover case 11, and a compression coil spring 6 provided between a structure plate 8 supporting the operating hook 12.
