摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overdrive control method which allows uniform luminance to be held within a display surface when driving a liquid crystal display device provided with a back light of an impulse light emission system. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with; a liquid crystal cell which forms an image display area by a plurality of pixels demarcated by crossing of a plurality of scanning line and signal lines; a scanning driver for successively applying a scanning voltage to the plurality of pixels of the liquid crystal cell through scanning lines; a signal driver for applying a signal voltage to pixels, to which the scanning voltage is applied through scanning lines, through signal lines; and an overdrive controller which controls the signal driver so that an overdrive voltage being a signal voltage higher than a signal voltage for obtaining target luminance which the pixels should display is applied as the signal voltage applied to the pixels by the signal driver. The overdrive controller is capable of controlling the overdrive voltage to be applied to the signal driver, in accordance with positions of scanning lines. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
