PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress turning-up of a blade for cleaning a transfer member and to remove paper powder stuck to the transfer member, while attaining miniaturization of an apparatus. SOLUTION: Paper powder stuck to a secondary transfer roll 31 from paper is removed by a rotating cleaning brush 34, and remaining toner stuck to the secondary transfer roll 31 is removed by a cleaning blade 35. At this time, the situation that paper powder is caught between the secondary transfer roll 31 and the cleaning blade 35 doesn't occur. A zinc stearate transferred and stuck to the cleaning brush 34 from a zinc stearate block 36 is applied to the secondary transfer roll 31 to reduce a frictional force acting between the secondary transfer roll 31 and the cleaning blade 35.
