PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional spatial image display apparatus capable of displaying three-dimensional images with a high spatial frequency in front of eyes. SOLUTION: The three-dimensional spatial image display apparatus comprises a three-dimensional image display device 1. The three-dimensional image display device 1 has: a two-dimensional image display device 2 in which pixels composing pixel groups for displaying component images are arranged in a matrix; and a light ray control part 3 disposed parallel to the display surface of the two-dimensional image display device 2 and provided with exit pupils corresponding to the pixel groups. The three-dimensional image display device 1 displays a three-dimensional image by allowing light rays exited from the pixels to pass through the corresponding exit pupils. The three-dimensional spatial image display apparatus also comprises a self-convergence screen 9 with which groups of light rays exited through the exit pupils of the light ray control part 3 are reflected in the direction of their traces. The three-dimensional spatial image display apparatus further comprises an optical element 10 disposed between the light ray control part 3 and the self-convergence screen 9 and having both transmissivity and reflectivity so as to intersect the traces of the groups of light rays.
