PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality of a liquid crystal display device by an inexpensive circuit. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with a frame memory, an interlace-progressive conversion circuit which converts an interlaced video signal into a progressive video signal from a video signal delayed by one field or one frame by the frame memory and current video, and an overdrive circuit which determines and outputs gradation data corresponding to voltage actually applied to a liquid crystal based upon gradations of an inputted video signal and gradations of the video signal delayed by one frame by the frame memory, the frame memory being used exclusively by the interlace-progressive conversion circuit or overdrive circuit.
