PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable marking method which provides an excellent visibility, easier detachability and superior workability in the application to the marking of narrow optical cables. SOLUTION: A flexible resin tube 1 with a slit 2 formed in the axial direction is opened and attached to the periphery of a cable 11. An adhesive tape 4 on which a connection destination number 7 and a connection beginning number 8 having been printed is hung on the periphery of the tube, and both ends are butt-seamed. By the way of printing the connection destination number and the connection beginning number near at the ends of the adhesive tape, respectively, the connection destination number is indicated on one surface of a tape tab area 9 in buttseam while the connection beginning number being indicated on the other surface. Since the tube can be slid and rotated on the cable, after the tube and the adhesive tape have been attached to the cable, the position can be adjusted and the direction of the tab area can also be aligned.
