<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent displacement of a photoreceptor, etc., caused by frictional force between the photoreceptor and a intermediate transfer belt in the course of first-color image formation and thereby to prevent color shift between the first color and a second color and colors after that. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an ROS for forming electrostatic latent images on a photoreceptor drum 1; a developing device unit 3 for visualizing the electrostatic latent images with a plurality of color toners; and a transfer bias application means for primarily transferring the visualized toner images onto an intermediate transfer belt 4. Prior to the writing of the first-color image by the ROS, a development bias for the first color is applied at least before the intermediate transfer belt 4 makes one rotation. Consequently, the coefficient of friction between the photoreceptor drum 1 and the intermediate transfer belt 4 in the course of the first-color image formation is decreased, which prevents an occurrence of such a great frictional force as causing color shift. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
