摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device capable of reliably igniting a second-step inflator at an adequate timing not only in a high-speed head-on collision but also in a high-speed oblique collision and a high-speed offset collision. <P>SOLUTION: A front G integration means 16 integrates the output of a front G sensor 2 arranged at a substantially center forward of a vehicle to obtain the front G integrated value. A center G integration means 17 integrates the output of a center G sensor 3 arranged at a substantially center part of the vehicle to obtain the center G integrated value. A subtraction means 18 subtracts the center G integrated value from the front G integrated value to obtain the subtracted value. A first stage ignition determination means 19 generates the first stage ignition command at the time when the subtracted value exceeds the first stage ignition threshold TH1, and operates a first stage inflator 61 to perform the half-development of an airbag.
