PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with a range finder apparatus reducing the size of the camera. SOLUTION: The camera includes: a photographic lens 10; a plurality of lens groups disposed in front of the photographic lens 10 and whose focal distance is altered; and a half mirror 11 which is disposed behind the photographic lens 10 and divides the photographic optical path 1 defined by the photographic lens 10 into an optical path 2 for a photographic optical system and an optical path 3 for a range finder optical system. The camera further includes: a field lens 16 disposed on the optical path 3 for the range finder optical system and on the primary imaging face 12 of the photographic lens 10 or on the side closer to an imaging lens than the primary imaging face, and adapted to guide light transmitted through the half mirror 11 to a pair of range finder sensors 15; and the pair of range finder sensors 15 disposed on the second imaging face of a glass lens (re-imaging a pair of secondary images) 17 and adapted to detect an image used for a focal point detecting operation.
