PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an electric motor configured to a continuous operation mode at a high speed in addition to an intermittent operation mode and the continuous operation mode at a low speed. SOLUTION: The motor 10 is constituted as a flat motor provided with a motor yoke 12 formed with a flat shape having a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction of a commutator 24 comprising two opposite linear sides 14, 16 in the lateral direction and two opposite curve sides 18, 20 in the longitudinal direction, and can be disposed in a relatively narrow space e.g. an interior of a rear door. The motor 10 is constituted so as to oppositely dispose a common brush 26 and a low-speed driving brush 28 in acute angle regions C, D, dispose a high-speed driving brush 30 in an obtuse angle region B, shift the high-speed driving brush 30 from the low-speed driving brush 28 at a predetermined angle less than 90°and hold the high-speed driving brush using a leaf spring arm 34. The motor 10 as the flat motor can be configured to the continuous operation mode at the high speed in addition to the intermittent operation mode and the continuous operation mode at the low speed.
